We were the first...

As the inaugural class of students in the newly formed School of Rural Public Health, we experienced many "firsts". Perhaps the most memorable experiences are tied to being first and the relationships we built with our faculty. The commitment to creating something new was infused in every class, meeting, and opportunity and the faculty and staff in those earliest days were there to help us succeed.

I remember many lunches where students and faculty sat together in a makeshift classroom in the Centeq Building. Sometimes we ventured out to a local Thai restaurant because our founding dean Ciro Sumaya loved it! Those lunches were some of the best learning experiences and we knew we were part of building something special here in Aggieland.
