Carol Davis

I have several fond memories of going to the then School of Rural Public Health (SRPH). I remember my first day of classes at SRPH back in 2001 when the classes were in the Wells Fargo Bank building. I got in the elevator and a guy with a side arm under his jacket get on the elevator with me. I was trying to figure out if I needed to report a guy with a gun in the bank building until I made it to the classroom and realized the FBI had an office on the same floor as the school. I also remember the Epi department had some of the best Halloween parties.

The FBI agents would also visit during the parties to check out our costumes but by then most of the students knew about their office. It was such a great group of faculty, staff, and students. Not only did the schoolwork help me prepare for a career in public health but also the leadership opportunities from being involved with the school. I was a teaching and research assistant, I helped start the Epi Student Organization with Michelle, John and others, and I served on several committees as a student representative. I remember going to the 5-year anniversary event and can't believe it is already time for the 25-year anniversary.
