I was at SPH from 2002-2004 and graduated with an MPH in Epidemiology. During my time there I learned a lot, made friends that I still keep in touch with, and most importantly met my future wife, Nicole Ware Spencer. Nicole also received her MPH at SPH in 2004. My education at SPH opened many doors and led me to a career in healthcare quality. My first position after graduating was as an epidemiologist for Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI and later became a manager of their quality analytics team. I've also been an infection control preventionist and I'm currently the Corporate Director for Regulatory and Clinical Registry Reporting for Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, GA. Nicole went on to earn a doctorate in psychology and currently runs her own practice called Asili Wellness. She also served as an officer in the Army reserves for eight years. We are both still happily married after 17 years and currently have three fur babies - Sheba, Kendi, and Nya.
