Aisha Souri

SPH Aggies Unite! Daphne Lynch (Quick) ’13 was the first SPH graduate to be employed at Collin County Health Care Service (CCHCS). Daphne was hired in 2013 in epidemiology. In 2015, Aisha Souri ’15 joined the CCHCS epidemiology team as Daphne’s office mate. Daphne and Aisha became fast friends, bonding over memories of their times at SPH. From comparing their experiences with different professors, trying to figure out mutual friends they may share, and arguing over the best places to eat in Aggieland, no topic was left out! In 2019 Andrew Lam (current SPH doctoral candidate) was hired as an epidemiology intern at CCHCS. Fast forward to 2020. The world was in need of more epidemiologists resulting in Andrew’s MPH internship leading to a full-time epidemiologist position. Daphne, Aisha and Andrew along with the rest of the epidemiologists at CCHCS persevered through one of the most difficult times in public health history. We shared laughs, fears and tears as we battled COVID-19. After everything we have been through, we are now first and foremost friends, secondly, coworkers. Daphne and Aisha’s love for SPH must have rubbed off on Andrew because in 2022, he joined the SPH family as a doctoral student. We are thankful for the solid public health foundation SPH provided and are excited that the tradition continues with new students that we can cheer on!
