The Department of Health Policy and Management offers the following graduate degree programs:
The Master of Health Administration (MHA) is a professional degree program intended for students pursuing administrative practice in health service related settings. We offer two tracks to earn the MHA degree:
The Master of Public Health (MPH) is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of how federal, state, and local policies shape the U.S. health-care system and includes the study of health economics, policy and advocacy, and analysis. The degree program integrates research and practice skills while preparing students to solve our most complex public health problems.
The Doctor of Philosophy in Health Services Research examines the development, implementation and effects of policy actions taken at the local, state, national and/or international level. It seeks to determine the effects of policies on the health and health care of populations and population subgroups. Graduates are known for their excellent methodological skills and substantive knowledge of healthcare settings and policies, competencies that enable students to translate research findings into practical applications.
