LinkedIn Learning is available to all Texas A&M University students, faculty, and staff (formerly Lynda.com). LinkedIn Learning offers thousands of educational videos that can supplement curricula, allowing students to explore concepts at their own pace. LinkedIn Learning content can be added to your Canvas course or otherwise shared to make linking to courses and videos easier.
LinkedIn learning offers videos and courses that can help supplement instructors’ course content. Videos and courses can be added directly to modules or can be added as an assignment. Prior to integrating LinkedIn Learning Content, instructors will need to locate the LTI Single Sign-On (SSO) link to ensure the correct content is integrated into a course.
Canvas Integration
We recommend first logging into LinkedIn Learning to locate the LTI SSO link as it will make the rest of the process easier. To do this:
Signing in with this email will allow access to LinkedIn Learning through the university. Individuals can then link this account to their personal LinkedIn account if they wish to do so.
In the top right corner, select the Go to Admin option
In the search bar at the top of the page, search for the course or video that will be added to the Canvas course.
Under the video that will be added, click More on the right side
Select Share LTI SSO link
Copy the link to the clipboard
Once the link is copied, the content is ready to be added to an assignment. To do this:
Navigate to Assignments in the course navigation pane
Click Add Assignment in the top right corner
Fill out the appropriate assignment settings such as name, display type and due dates
Under Submission type, select External Tool
In the URL box that appears, paste the copied LTI SSO link
