Research Interests
- Building healthy outdoor communities as a mechanism to reduce health disparities
- Access to physical activity within underserved communities, communities of color, and youth
- Community based research, engagement, and development
- Physician-based physical activity counseling, prescription and referral
- Linkages between community, clinic, and church, and the role public health practitioners play to leverage resources between them all
Awards, Recognition and Service
- Dr. Stasi is a Faculty Fellow with the Center for Health and Nature, on the Executive Program Committee for the Active Living Conference, and serves on the SPH Health and Wellness Committee as a Faculty Representative
- In 2019, she was granted article of the year with the American Journal of Health Promotion for her work surrounding access to physical activity
- She teaches in the undergraduate program through Public Health Studies and within the SOPH Core for school wide MPH students
- She has over 10 years of experience advocating for and with community-based organizations within Los Angeles, Miami, Honolulu, Pasadena (TX), Bryan-College Station, and currently within the Houston area.
- In addition to her work within academia and community outreach, she is a personal trainer, health, fitness, and CrossFit coach.
