Biography
Tyler Prochnow, PhD is an Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University. His research interests include the social dynamics which drive health behavior. The majority of Dr. Prochnow's work involves social network analysis, physical activity, and mental health. Dr. Prochnow has research experience with social network analysis, systematic observation, intervention development, community health worker training, and implementation science. Throughout his work, Dr. Prochnow has published over 80 peer reviewed journal articles and has contributed to over 130 conference presentations. Dr. Prochnow has been funded by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute on a K01 training grant to better understand the social and build environment influences on adolescent mental health and physical activity during the summer through ecological momentary assessment. He has also been funded through the National Institute for Minority Health and Health Disparities to determine how the social networks of Black/African American men may influence their ability to manage type 2 diabetes. He has worked with local Boys & Girls Clubs to evaluate physical activity, mental health, and social emotional learning in summer. Additionally, Dr. Prochnow has worked with several health departments to plan, develop, and execute community health needs assessments and active living plans.Education and Training
