Education and Training

The University of Texas at Austin
B.S., Nursing

After growing up in Katy, Texas, Victoria went to The University of Texas at Austin to pursue her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She chose this path due to her own experience as a patient with Type 1 Diabetes, diagnosed at three years old. Every summer during her undergraduate career, Victoria volunteered on the medical staff at Camp Rainbow, a camp for Type 1 diabetic children, which she attended during her formative years. During her undergraduate time she also spent a year volunteering in a women's health clinic, completed a summer internship at the UT Children's Wellness Clinic in Del Valle, Texas, worked as a tutor in the School of Nursing, and worked as a peer coordinator for pharmacology in the Peer-Led Undergraduate Study program (PLUS). After she graduated with University Honors and attained her registered nurse license, she started working on the pediatric and postpartum units at CHI St. Joseph Health, a non-profit hospital in Bryan, Texas. She is hoping her experiences as a bedside nurse, volunteering/ working in the various clinics she has served, and as a patient, herself will lead to a unique perspective in the health administration field. In her free time, Victoria loves being with her dog, traveling, cooking, reading, and watching movies.
