Awards, Recognition and Service
- Dr. García has worked on community-based and participatory research projects and is actively involved in several efforts with promotores de salud in the Latino community. His research focuses on preventing cancer among culturally and linguistically diverse populations in the U.S. and abroad. He has extensive experience in tobacco regulatory science and addressing tobacco use disparities among different racial/ethnic populations. Dr. Garcia is particularly passionate about serving the Latino community and identifying culturally responsive practices to promote health behaviors.
