3+2 Bachelor and Master's Dual Degree


The School of Public Health is excited to announce that a 3+2 Program in which undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) majors can earn a combined BSPH/MPH degree in Epidemiology through an intensive program within 5 years.  With this degree students can:

  • Enhance and build upon your public health knowledge and skills.
  • Gain real world experience with the required practicum portion of your degree program. 
  • Save up to one year in time to complete two degrees.

How it works

Current BSPH undergraduate students can apply the spring of their junior year and start graduate courses the fall of their senior year.

First, request the Certificate of Eligibility Form from Dr. Curtis in the Public Health Studies Office for approval.

Submit your application via SOPHAS Express by June 1, 2020.



  • Minimum overall TAMU GPA of 3.5

  • Applicants must have completed at least 30 credit hours at TAMU

  • Applicants must be in the third year of their degree plan by hours of college coursework and it is preferred that applicants not have more than 100 college credit hours total.

  • Students must have completed the TAMU Core Curriculum and the following undergraduate BSPH courses by the end of their junior year at a minimum:

  • A competitive score on the GRE, GMAT, or MCAT is required - NOTE: the test score requirement for Fall 2020 applicants has been WAIVED!

Application Requirements

  • Certificate of Eligibility Form (request from Dr. Curtis)
  • SOPHAS Express application and fee
  • Statement of Purpose and Objectives (personal statement)
  • Current Resume or CV
  • Two (2) Letters of recommendation. SPH prefers at least: 
    • One academic reference from a higher education institution
    • One professional reference 
  • Unofficial transcripts from all undergraduate institutions attended.  
  • Effective 4/8/2020, the GRE test score requirement has been waived for applicants to the Fall 2020 cohort
