Substance Abuse Policy

Policy on Illegal Drugs and Alcohol

The unlawful manufacture, distribution, possession or use of illicit drugs or alcohol is strictly prohibited on Texas A&M University System property.   In addition, the purchase, consumption and possession of alcoholic beverages in facilities under the control of Texas A&M HSC shall in all respects comply with state laws and with guidelines as defined in System Policy 34.03 and System Regulation 34.02.01. 

Texas A&M HSC and the School of Public Health are committed to maintaining an environment that is free from substance abuse as well as complying with state and federal laws.  A primary concern related to substance abuse in the academic setting is prevention and treatment.


Any student alleged to be involved in a specific act concerning alcohol or illegal substances in the classroom setting or on Texas A&M HSC property is subject to the attached procedures.
